Abstract:In order to examine the construction status of rural road network at typical counties in Wuling Mountain Area under the background of rural revitalization, Xiushan County in Chongqing Municipality is taken as the research area, and the network analysis, CRITIC (criteria importance though intercriteria correlation) method and spatial autocorrelation test in GIS were used to calculate the sub-evaluation and comprehensive evaluation results, investigate the accessibility of rural road network, and carry out spatial autocorrelation test. The results indicate that: the accessibility level of the road network in Xiushan County follows a spatial distribution pattern of “high in the middle and low at the edges”, “high in the southeast and low in the southwest”, and decreases from the center of Xiushan County towards the edges in a “circle”pattern. The high accessibility area is the political, economic and cultural center of Xiushan County, with an area of 202.01 km2 and the number of administrative villages accounting for 17.91%, which has a gentle terrain, convenient internal and external transportation, and is able to radiate and drive the economic development of the peripheral neighboring areas. The low accessibility zone is located in the southwestern part, with a total area of 259.58 km2 and the number of administrative villages accounting for 7.84%, which has complicated terrain and relatively backward economic development. The level of road network accessibility has a strong spatial clustering, with five hot spots and two cold spots. The results of research provide scientific basis and data support for further improvement of road network construction in remote mountainous areas, while the improvement of the road network construction level will effectively promote the economic development of remote mountainous areas and contribute to the revitalization of the countryside.
